Alas, we have the book covers for the last Harry Potter book....feels kinda depressing after reading Harry Potter for almost 6yrs. I started to get hooked on the books during 2000 when my friend recommended it to me. At first, I thought that Harry Potter was the name of the author of the book rather than the title! Also, I admit that I was like those pple who initially thought that the books were promoting witchcraft and occult. But then, once I started reading it, all I realised that those initial reactions that I have were all poppycock or b**s*****!! The books are not promoting witchcraft, rather they are promoting the values of love, sacrifices and the choices that we make. I liked the quote form Prof Dumbledore who said that it matters not what someone is born, but what they grow up to be. Also, he continued that the choices that we made determine who we are, rather than our personal background.

Harry Potter comes out!!

Woah!! The latest and final book of Harry Potter will be out on this July!! I can't wait for this book. It will be bittersweet to say final goodbye to Harry Potter since I read the first book. Harry Potter is the new generation of fantasy books to many youths like Lord of the Rings is to the many youths after the WWII.

2 more deaths revealed in the final book of Potter
Oh no, JK Rowling had said on the UK afternoon talk show Richard & Judy that 2 main characters will be killed in the final harry potter book. She was quoted as saying:
"The final chapter is hidden away, although it's now changed very slightly, One character got a reprieve, but I have to say two die that I didn't intend to die."
Let me guess...erm I guess Snape will be the one getting the reprieve. As for the characters who are going to die, I am not going to speculate at the moment but I think Rowling is going to kill Harry. Seriously if it were me, I would not want some other author to continue the stories of Harry like the Star Wars series. I would want the series to end it on my own terms rather than let some author mess up my beloved character. So kudos to her for that...
So far, I loved all the Harry Potter books especially the last one, Half Blood Prince. It kinda saddened me to see the series ending soon in the next yr. She wrote the whole series including the final chapter of the last book even before her first book is published. Imagine that! She has given lots of her time and energy into developing the characters and the storyline. I guess she deserved the title 'Greatest Living British Writer' ever which is voted by the people.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Watched Harry Potter during this weekend at midnight. Wow, what a show!! I think that this is the best movie ever for the Harry Potter series. Cool CGI effects and great acting from the actors and actresses. And there was British humour!! At last! There were funny light-hearted moments, like the ferret scene which made me wanna laugh. The storyline is at times choppy and cut up, but understandable. However, those who haven't read the book yet maybe in the lost like in the maze...as a lot of stuff have been cut off e.g spew, action from Quidditch World Cup etc...
Some grips The ending is too fast paced. How come Dumbledore doesn't explain the reverse spell effect for the audience? Dumbledore. At first, when I watched the trailer, I thought Michael Gambon was protraying Dumbledore as a different person from the book, too feisty and always shouting "HARRY POTTER". But then when I watched the movie, Dumbledore was alright. A bit too feisty at times but toned down a little near the end. However, I missed Dumbledore's wisdom. The actor doesn't seem to be protraying Dumbledore as a wise wizard, instead as an out-dated wizard struggling to make sense of what is going to happened in the wizarding world.
Miranda Richardson protrayal as the Rita Skeeter was good. A pity she is not recurring her role again in her next HP movie.

The graveyard scene was one of my best. Ralph Fiennes was excellent in his protrayal of Lord Voldemort-creepy, scaring looky and at times snake-like. It will be great to look forward to the epic battle between Lord Voldemort and Dumbledore in the next movie.
Overall, great movie to watch. However, if you are a HP purist, then this movie may be disappointing as many side storylines were cut. So when you watch the movie, just watch it as it is and don't compare with the books.
