Dead Dad Club

Guess I am now officially a member of this club after watching a recent episode of Grey’s Anatomy. During the episode where George O’Malley had to pull the plug on his father after realizing that he would no be able to wake up from his operation, Christina had to remorsefully comfort him by apologising to him that she was sorry that he had to join the Dead Dad Club. The episode ended with George saying, “I just can’t imagine existing in a world where my dad doesn’t.”

After watching the recent episode of Grey’s Anatomy, I really agreed with him totally with his emotions of helplessness and shared his sentiments. During the show, there were many moments that touched my heart, making me close to tears because the content of the episode related to me personally. It is different when our parents died. Before they died, we always took them for granted. We stretched our hands to ask our dads for money when we are broke. We looked to our mothers for help when our clothes needed sewing or washing. We cried in our parents’ arms when we lost a relationship with our friends or loved ones. We shouted at our parents when our demands are not met or when they grounded us. However, once they are gone from this place, we will truly realized how much they are missed and wondered to ourselves how are we going to live our life without their guidance.

Miss you always…
